VEN (CHICAGO) — With help from race-hustler Jessie “Mr Set Aside” Jackson — who smeared himself with MLK’s blood, then lied about standing next to him when he was shot and killed on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis in April, 1968 — one of Chicago’s most fearsome gangs, the Black P. Stone Rangers — with whom Jackson has been closely affiliated since the 1960s — filed a patent application last March for drive by shootings, which is now being challenged jointly by Murder, Inc. and La Cosa Nostra International.
Whereas MI/LCN holds prior art claims against the type of cars and techniques used in gangland slayings going back to Prohibition, lawyers for the BPSR contend that their patent application is unique owing to several important differences from the original MI/LCN patent, including but not limited to:
- The type of vehicle used (The BPSR application specifies a black Mercedes/BWM SUV with dark-tinted glass and tricked out dope 40″ rims, as opposed to an ordinary black Packard or Cadillac sedan with chrome trim and white-wall tires)
- Weapon of choice (A 9mm semi-auto hand gun with a 14+ clip or semi-auto MAC 10, as opposed to a Tommy Gun chambered for .45 ACP with a drum magazine. NOTE: 1911 .45 semi-auto pistol or .22 semi-auto pistol reserved for close-up “intimate” two-in-the-back-of-the-head hits in restaurants or barber shops, never used in a drive by.)
- Shooting technique (Pistol held sideways with eyes closed, instead of Tommy Gun held straight, eyes focused on target)
- Shouts of defiance (“This fow LeMarius” or “Fuck y’all”; nothing specified)
- Wardrobe (Hip-hop prison casual with gold chains and baseball caps turned sideways versus black custom-made shark skin suits, sleek imported Italian loafers, grey fedoras and (optional) diamond pinky ring)
- Celebratory music played (Blaring hard-core gangsta rap CD mix, as opposed to any muted Frank Sinatra/Tony Bennett song on the radio or, if the radio is not working, a guy named Vito in the back seat humming Volare)
