VEN (Niagara) — Warm weather and French-Canadian ingenuity proved an almost fatal combination Sunday, as the LeBlanc brothers, Rene and Marcel, were rescued from the Niagara River by the New York State Park Police moments before their “Pontoon Party Boat” plummeted over the Falls and was dashed to pieces on the rocks below.
“We run out of gas and were just drifting along! But hey, we had plenty of Slim Jims and Labatts, so it was a good day after all! Plus we get our picture in the paper!”
